Advanced Trainee in Palliative Medicine

 St Vincent's Hospital Brisbane is seeking an advanced trainee in Palliative Medicine to join a team of 3 specialists, two trainees and a number of part time medical officers. The post which is unexpectedly vacant is available immediately. It is for 12 months (six months would be considered) and is accredited by the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine for core or elective modules in both inpatient and community palliative care.

 The palliative care service, known as The Tarmons Centre, includes a 28 bed inpatient unit, 24/7 home care service, outpatients, research and education units and bereavement service designed to support anyone diagnosed with a life limiting illness not just patients with cancer

 Trainees will gain extensive experience in a supportive environment. Both formal and informal teaching is provided and trainees will be expected to participate in Journal Club and other educational activities. Opportunities are available to participate in research and quality activities and develop teaching and presentation skills.

 Trainees are required to participate in an after hours roster on a 1:3 basis.
